Extension is a mobile booking app and lightweight web experience for a salon group specialising in Black hair. I led product design for an MVP aimed at increasing confirmed bookings and launching a reliable digital booking pipeline.

Clients lacked a fast, trustworthy way to discover stylists, see real work, and book—so many bookings were done offline. Goal: launch an MVP that triples confirmed bookings and reduces booking friction.

Discovery → stakeholder workshops → wireframes → interactive prototypes → usability testing → high-fidelity → dev handoff.
Built a component library and design tokens in Figma for rapid iteration.

Compact booking flow: date → time → stylist → confirm in 3 screens to cut drop-off.

Trust via profiles: stylist micro-portfolios (photos, price, duration) show up in discovery tiles.

Simple payments & verification: OTP for first booking + saved card option for repeat bookings.

Usability testing + beta rollout (≈320 users).

Bookings increased 3x vs pre-MVP baseline within 3 months.

Onboarding completion rose substantially (early KPI lift).

Qualitative feedback: faster booking and higher confidence choosing stylists.
